DUNGEONFOG is funded! Next steps.
about 7 years ago – Thu, Apr 27, 2017 at 01:28:48 AM

Thank you!

It was about 6 months ago when the idea of DUNGEONFOG came to life and we never would have dreamed that it would be such a huge success! It was your support that made this possible and we are blown away by the amount of positive feedback, encouragement and enthusiasm you showed to us.

Thank you for making our project a reality!

Next steps

A few things need to happen before we can kick off production and fulfillment.

  • First, Kickstarter needs to transfer over the funds so we start with development. In the meantime we will update the website, refine our development schedules (now that we have an additional developer joining our team) and continue to reach out to potential partner (see below).

  • Second, we have to find out where we need to send the dice, and the PREMIUM subscription keys. To do so, we will send out a BackerKit survey to collect this information.

We will give you a heads-up before we send the survey so that you can watch for it.

You will not need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey. The invitation email will contain a link to your personal survey:

  • There, you will also have an option to order dice separately from your reward.
  • You will also have a final chance to upgrade your subscription model to lifetime free, since this offer will only be available for Kickstarter backers and will not be available anymore once we have launched.

It is important to submit your responses as quickly as you can since we need this information to process your rewards.

If you need to change your survey responses, add or remove add-ons, or update your shipping information, you can click on the link in your survey email again or request your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page. (This page will only start working after we send the surveys out.)

If you prefer, you can just message us your info, but we STRONGLY SUGGEST using BackerKit as you will have the opportunity to add ADDITIONAL PRODUCTS on to your current pledge and help us make the shipping process SEAMLESS! BackerKit helps us save lots of time by streamlining the survey process, automating data organization, and providing us with pledge management software to make it easy to process your pledge reward shipments.

If you used Facebook to log into your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey link will be sent to the email you used for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you'd prefer to use, please message me.

Again, thanks for all your support. We can’t wait to send you your rewards!

Check this out!

Remember, that you can download a printable version of your maps through DUNGEONFOG?
Chris from Nord Games contacted me, since they have an ongoing campaign for Print On Demand Battle Maps! We got in touch and talked about the possibility to send maps directly from DUNGEONFOG to them, so that you could get your maps printed right away.
Help them get funded and we can add an awesome partner for printed maps!

Interview, Pirates, Soundscapes explained & 4 days to go
about 7 years ago – Fri, Apr 21, 2017 at 11:51:31 PM

 Interview by DarkLordFlufffy

This week we had the opportunity to be interviewed by DarkLordFlufffy on the story behind DUNGEONFOG, the road ahead and other game master related topics.

Naval props

Toni finished this week some additional props for our fantasy setting, including props for naval maps. Yarrr!

 Soundscapes explained

Together with Rei we've created a short video on how the sound system will work, so that you can get a better understanding on how he wields his sound-magic.

4 days to go!

It's the final days of the campaign and we are incredibly proud of how far we've got.
So let's bring this campaign to its glorious finale and then get to work :)

Dynamic Lighting unlocked, New Stretch Goals announced
about 7 years ago – Tue, Apr 18, 2017 at 02:48:57 PM

You did it!

With your help we are now able to add dynamic lighting to the repertoire of DUNGEONFOG.

So let's reach for the stars!

We have announced the next set of stretch goals, that we would love to implement for launch 2018:

Hex Grids

Once we reach that stretch goal, we will implement hex grids to the editor core function. When you create a map, you can select if you want to use a square or hex grid and the snap tool will adjust accordingly. Snap-to-Hex so to say!

Multi-Level dungeons

Instead of creating a new map for each level of our dungeon, you can draw the whole dungeon in one take. Simply add a new level above or below the one that you have drawn and use the previous map as a blueprint.

Isometric dungeon view

Once we have implemented the multi-level mechanic, we can make use of that to render dungeons in isometric view. To help you arrange your isometric levels, we will add an additional iso-level editor, where you can arrange your levels and draw connection lines.

Soundscapes, Playtest Video & Dice!
about 7 years ago – Wed, Apr 12, 2017 at 10:22:00 PM

Soundscapes unlocked

Today we have unlocked our 4th stretch goal: Dynamically Generated Soundscapes.
Let me say how proud we all are here at DUNGEONFOG, that we have made it this far! It is incredible to see how a tiny idea can become such a well received vision!

Playtest

We figured, that it would be helpful to see how DUNGEONFOG can be used for a game session. So we sat down, played a session for you and recorded it. Special thanks go to Toni and Thomas who joined me in this endeavour!

Dice!

Last week we asked the community here on Kickstarter and on social media, what you would like to see as a new reward tier at € 150,00. The feedback was immense and ranged from t-shirts, mugs or notebooks to dice. And that's where we were hooked immediately. Dice are the best. You can never have enough dice and especially, when they come as a limited edition!

So we contacted a few dice manufacturers and were able to
strike a deal with Q Workshop!

From today on, we are a bringing a new reward tier:
€ 145,00 Platinum lifetime + Dice

All rewards from €145,00 and above (except digital only rewards) will come with a full set of polyhedral DUNGEONFOG dice. We are also currently checking if we can bring the dice as an addon for lower tiers through Backerkit, so let us know what you think about that idea.

Keep in mind, the production time for the dice will be around 3-4 month depending on the ordered amount. Once the campaign is over and we know how many dice are needed, we will immediately ask Q Workshop to start with production and ship them to you around August / October.

Let the dice roll!
